MEKA Concrete Batching Plants, Rapidly Increasing in Number in France

Our customer producing ready-mixed concrete in France, due to the high quality and high performance of the first MB-K110 Stationary Concrete Batching Plant successfully installed last year in the city of Mondragon by Meka engineers, also chose 2 Meka MB-K110 Stationary Concrete Batching Plants for its new investments at the Port of Lyon Édouard-Herriot. In this way, Meka successfully commissioned a total of 3 MEKA Concrete Batching Plants in the Lyon region within the same year.

At each plant there is a 4×25 m³ completely hot-dip galvanized aggregate bin and a Meka Twin-shaft mixer with a capacity of 2250 l. The plant main chassis on which the mixers are located are also produced completely hot-dip galvanized, providing both a long service life and the ability to weigh very precisely at the material scales.

The entire plant was produced in accordance with CE and French standards, and, within the scope of the project, in order to minimize environmental impact, at each concrete batching plant the main chassis, the transfer belts and the tops of the aggregate bins have been completely covered with trapezoidal cladding. Dust generation has been minimized with mixer filters placed on top of the mixer. To collect the waste water coming out of the mixers, special compass-type mixer waste-water collection chutes have been designed, and the waste concrete and dirty water are directed not to the environment but to special drains in a fast and environmentally sensitive way.

To fully ensure safety during maintenance and operation, all mixers are equipped with a special mixer safety lock. To be able to reuse, in concrete production, the recycled water recovered at the concrete recycling plants, special recycled-water lines were designed at the plants.

So that the customer can use the area most effectively, 2 concrete batching plants were specially placed side by side, and a single aggregate feeding ramp was designed for the 2 plants.

At the customer's special request, at one plant — with a specially designed batching belt and air blaster in the aggregate bin and a radial conveyor placed before the transfer belt — the customer produces, in addition to ready-mixed concrete, special aggregate mixes filled into big bags.

Since the plants will operate in the port area, for a long service life, all units except the galvanized units have been painted with a special acrylic paint.
