Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What Is a Mobile Concrete Batching Plant?

A mobile concrete batching plant is a portable concrete production facility created by integrating all the units found in a conventional batching plant onto a wheeled chassis. The aggregate bin, weighing system, mixer, cement silo connection, and automation unit are all integrated on a single main chassis. In MEKA mobile plants, the control room is also mounted on this mobile chassis. This allows the plant to be transported to the desired construction site with a truck tractor and begin production in a short time. Mobile concrete batching plants are frequently preferred for project-based construction companies, road construction projects, dam constructions, and mass housing sites that require concrete at different locations.

What Determines the Price of a Mobile Concrete Batching Plant?

Mobile concrete batching plant prices vary based on several key factors. The most important is the plant’s hourly production capacity. There is a significant price difference between a 60 m³/h capacity plant and a 145 m³/h capacity plant. Additionally, the choice of mixer type directly affects the price. Options such as single-shaft, twin-shaft, or planetary mixers are selected based on the concrete quality requirements of the project. The automation level, number of cement silos, aggregate bin capacity, and optional equipment are other factors that determine the total cost. At MEKA, we offer project-specific solutions. How Does a Mobile Concrete Batching Plant Work?

The working principle of a mobile concrete batching plant is the same as that of stationary batching plants. Aggregate, cement, water, and necessary admixtures are precisely measured on weighing scales according to a predetermined concrete recipe. These materials are then transferred to the concrete mixer and mixed until a homogeneous blend is achieved. The prepared concrete is discharged into a mixer truck and transported to the construction site. The entire process is managed by a computer-controlled automation system. The key difference in mobile plants is that all these units are integrated on a single transportable chassis. Since the electrical, water, and pneumatic installations are pre-assembled at the factory, only external connections need to be made on site.

What Is the Difference Between Mobile and Stationary Concrete Batching Plants?

The most fundamental difference between mobile and stationary concrete batching plants is portability and the installation process. Stationary batching plants are permanently installed in a fixed location, typically require high concrete foundations and extensive site preparation, and their installation takes a long time. These plants are preferred by ready-mix concrete producers, precast structural element manufacturers, and long-term projects with high-capacity concrete needs. Mobile concrete batching plants, on the other hand, can be transported with a single truck tractor, set up on a flat concrete surface, and made ready for production in a very short time. They also require less installation space compared to stationary plants. These features make them a significant advantage for companies that frequently relocate or work on short-term projects. MEKA offers both mobile and stationary concrete batching plant solutions to meet different project requirements.

How Long Does It Take to Install a Mobile Concrete Batching Plant?

The installation time of a mobile concrete batching plant varies depending on the plant’s capacity and site conditions, but on average it is completed within 2 to 4 days. This is approximately half the installation time of stationary concrete batching plants. The main reason for such a short installation time is that the electrical, water, and pneumatic installations are pre-assembled on the plant during factory production. Only tasks such as cement silo assembly, external power connections, and automation calibration remain on site. Additionally, mobile plants do not require high concrete foundations. A flat and solid concrete floor is sufficient. This significantly reduces both the installation time and foundation costs.

When Should a Mobile Concrete Batching Plant Be Preferred?

In the traditional method, the components of concrete are mixed at the batching plant, the concrete is prepared, and then transported to the construction site via transit mixers. With this production model, thousands of transit mixer loads of concrete can be transported over the course of a major construction project. This brings along many drawbacks such as fuel costs, vehicle fees and depreciation, driver salaries, and environmental pollution from exhaust emissions. Moreover, at stationary batching plants, the flexibility to switch production to a project requiring a different concrete recipe while a batch is being produced is very limited. Additionally, in some regions there may be temporary or permanent restrictions on the use of heavy concrete trucks on highways. This can negatively impact the production timeline and planning of construction projects. Mobile concrete batching plants are an excellent solution to eliminate all these drawbacks. Thanks to a MEKA Mobile Concrete Batching Plant installed at the production site, concrete that would otherwise be transported from stationary plants in dozens of vehicles can be delivered much more efficiently with just 1–2 transit mixers, depending on the project situation. As a concrete batching plant specialist, MEKA has successfully developed a mobile batching plant suitable for every type of project by combining the experience gained from global projects into its mobile product range design.

Fast Installation and Project Flexibility

The main unit of MEKA mobile concrete batching plants is designed to be transported by a single truck tractor. Since its external dimensions comply with European road standards, it can be shipped by road even to remote locations. The electrical, water, and pneumatic installations on the plant come pre-assembled from the factory. This means only external connections need to be made on site, reducing the installation time to an average of 7 to 9 days. The ability to be set up on a flat surface without the need for high concrete foundations saves both time and cost. Once your project is completed, the plant can be disassembled and transported to a new site. This flexibility is a significant advantage, especially for companies working simultaneously on multiple projects.

Robotic Production and Quality Assurance

MEKA operates across five separate production facilities spanning a total of over 110,000 square meters. Thanks to advanced technology production equipment such as welding robots and precision cutting and bending machines, human error is minimized, and every plant is produced to the same high-quality standards. In the context of mobile concrete batching plants specifically, this approach has a direct impact: a strong and durable main chassis structure. In mobile plants, the quality of the chassis directly affects safety during transport, vibration control during operation, and weighing accuracy. The development work carried out at MEKA’s R&D Center, approved by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Industry and Technology, continuously advances this quality.

Wide Capacity Range and Customization

Every project has different concrete needs. MEKA mobile concrete batching plants offer a wide capacity range from the M60 to the M145. Options range from a mobile solution producing 60 m³ per hour to high-performance models reaching a capacity of 145 m³ per hour. Beyond this, MEKA can configure each plant according to the specific requirements of the project. The choice of mixer type (single-shaft, twin-shaft, or planetary mixer), number of cement silos, aggregate bin capacity, and automation features are determined based on the customer’s preferences. The M30S, a site-type mobile concrete batching plant model, offers a practical alternative for tight spaces and low-capacity projects.

Global After-Sales Support and Spare Parts

One of the most critical factors not to be overlooked when purchasing a mobile concrete batching plant is after-sales support. Any interruption in your production process directly impacts the project timeline and costs. MEKA provides fast technical support wherever you are in the world, thanks to its stocked spare parts structure and extensive service network. With over 500 employees and a broad team of 2,000 including its supplier network, MEKA is by your side at every stage, from installation to commissioning.
