Reconstruction sets the pace
In reconstruction work the question is rarely “what is the biggest plant we can buy?” but “what is the fastest plant we can run?”. Compact and mobile plants install in days because they need no additional concrete footings, and can be moved to the next district when a phase completes. For programmes running over several years, a high-capacity stationary plant remains the best cost per cubic metre.
Demolition waste: liability or resource?
Clearance work generates large volumes of broken concrete. Hauling it to landfill costs twice — once in transport, once in buying fresh aggregate. With Holcim and the Casablanca Prefecture in Morocco, MEKA commissioned a 150 t/h mobile crushing and screening plant that recycles demolition concrete into usable aggregate, with overband magnetic separators to recover reinforcing steel and an air separator to remove plastic and timber. The same model applies directly to Benghazi.
Our Libyan reference
TGG Construction selected the MEKA K160 stationary plant, rated up to 140 m³/h; installation and commissioning were completed successfully and the plant now runs at full capacity.
