Yapı Merkezi Chose MEKA for Ethiopia Railway Project

The 350,000 m³ concrete demand of the 1.7 billion USD Awash-Kombolcha-Hara Gebaya Railway project, built by Yapı Merkezi in Ethiopia, was met with 6 MEKA concrete plants. Of the 6 plants used in the project, 2 stationary plants with 60 m³/h capacity handled concrete production at the railway's start and end points, while 4 mobile plants of 30 and 60 m³/h took on production for the station and viaduct structures.

Yapı Merkezi Machinery Operations Manager İbrahim Kerecteci commented on the subject: '' We had previously partnered with MEKA on our North Africa projects and witnessed its strong corporate structure, product quality, design and performance. We know that the services provided before the sale continue after the sale as well. For this reason, MEKA was our first choice for our 389 km long Ethiopia Railway project'' .

The Awash-Kombolcha-Hara-Gebaya Railway project, entirely designed by Yapı Merkezi, begins northeast of the city of Awash and continues northward, reaching Hara Gebaya via the city of Kombolcha. Making a major contribution to transport and freight traffic, the project also plays an important role in imports and exports carried out through the Port of Djibouti.
