Cooperation of Holcim and Leader Cement in Tbilisi Found the Solution in MEKA

For a long time, the demand for cement in western Georgia was met through imports; it will now be met by a plant created through the cooperation of leading global companies. The foundation of the new cement factory, a joint project of Lafarge-Holcim, the globally known cement and aggregate producer, and the Georgian company Leader Cement, was laid in 2014. After testing and PAC certification, the factory was put into operation and can produce 250,000-300,000 tons of cement per year.

After the cement factory project in Poti, part of a multi-stage strategic development plan, the Georgian company continued to grow through its cooperation with Lafarge-Holcim and moved on to establishing a ready-mix concrete production plant.

Before starting each new ready-mix project, Lafarge-Holcim searches for reliable, high-quality equipment manufacturers. Once again, this research showed that MEKA was the right choice thanks to its equipment quality and experience. All MEKA plants and screening plants, built on innovative solutions from the MEKA R&D Department, have become benchmarks for quality thanks to a solution-focused approach to customers.

Based on market analyses and demanding tests of different solutions offered by MEKA, Leader Cement chose the MEKA MB-120W stationary concrete batching plant. The first plant of Lafarge-Holcim and Leader Cement, a MEKA MB-120W with a production capacity of 120 m³/h, has been put into operation in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The new ready-mix plant and the cement plant are expected to create strong synergy in western Georgia.

The MEKA MB-120W stationary plant is the only plant in Tbilisi and its surroundings that offers this quality and these features in line with EU standards and for the production of special concrete types.
