MEKA’s sand washing plant in Tunisia is engineered to deliver high performance even under the most demanding conditions in North Africa. This project marks another milestone that reflects the power of MEKA engineering and the company’s tradition of innovation dating back to 1987.

Founded in Ankara in 1987 as an innovation and R&D-driven engineering company, MEKA quickly became a trusted name in the construction and mining industries. Today, with more than 4,000 plants installed in over 100 countries, MEKA builds more than equipment — it builds trust, quality, and durability.
This global presence is reinforced by MEKA equipment operating in major international projects such as Istanbul Airport, the HS2 high-speed railway in the UK, the Sochi Olympic Village, and the Hinkley Point C nuclear power plant.
Sustainability and customer satisfaction remain the core priorities in MEKA’s growth journey. For every project, MEKA develops tailor-made engineering solutions while upholding its principles of durability and high performance.

Designed for one of Tunisia’s leading mining companies, this sand washing plant efficiently processes feed material in the 0–20 mm range to produce high-purity silica sand in three fractions: 0–4 mm, 4–10 mm, and +10 mm.
Initial samples from the site showed a fine, plastic clay content of around 21%, which was reduced to below 1% after processing — depending on the material structure and site characteristics.
With a production capacity of 200 tons per hour, this facility is one of the largest in the region and aims to supply high-purity sand to the local market at a competitive cost.
Its heavy-duty body structure and high-quality components ensure long-lasting performance under the toughest working conditions — a testament to MEKA’s modular, customer-focused, and sustainable design philosophy.

Every MEKA project is built on a holistic engineering approach that considers site conditions, material characteristics, and client expectations. Detailed pre-analyses help define the optimum equipment configuration to achieve maximum efficiency.
The integrated electrical and automation system enables safe and user-friendly control of all process stages.
High-strength steel structures and durable components guarantee a long operational lifespan. In addition, MEKA’s extensive spare parts network and strong after-sales service ensure continuous and reliable production.
Key advantages of the Tunisia project include:

The Tunisia project stands as a result of MEKA’s expertise and customer-oriented approach. With this plant, MEKA has further strengthened its presence in the North African market while reaffirming its commitment to delivering high-value solutions to its clients.
