High-Capacity MEKA RCC Concrete Batching Plant Selected for the Salıpazarı Dam Project

The Salıpazarı Dam Project, currently under construction in the Salıpazarı district of Samsun and of great importance for the region’s water management, is being realized with the high-performance concrete production solutions of a MEKA RCC Concrete Batching Plant. The project’s main contractor, ICC Group, selected MEKA to meet the dam construction’s requirements for continuous, reliable, and high-capacity concrete production.

With a height of 76 meters and a water storage capacity of 26 million cubic meters, the Salıpazarı Dam will serve three critical functions upon completion. The dam will provide flood protection, drinking water supply, and agricultural irrigation for the Salıpazarı and Terme districts. It is also notable as the only dam project currently under construction in Samsun Province.

Within the scope of the project, a 195 m³/hour capacity RCC Concrete Batching Plant equipped with two 5 m³ mixers was delivered to the site, ensuring the production of dam body concrete with the required quality and continuity. The plant is fitted with a 5 × 35 m³ T-type aggregate bin system, one compartment of which features a specially designed four-gate system for very coarse aggregate. In addition, the facility is equipped with two concrete discharge chutes suitable for truck mixer feeding, as well as a 9 m³ concrete holding hopper for RCC production—providing maximum flexibility to meet project-specific requirements.

To date, approximately 95,000 cubic meters of concrete have been placed in the foundation works of the dam. This volume corresponds to the concrete requirement of nearly 1,400 standard 3+1 residential units. The project has reached a physical completion level of around 40%, with construction activities continuing as planned.

Scheduled for completion in 2026, the Salıpazarı Dam is expected to contribute significantly to regional water management by supplying 9 million cubic meters of drinking water and 9 million cubic meters of irrigation water annually, along with a flood protection capacity of 11 million cubic meters. The dam will help prevent uncontrolled discharge of water into the sea while substantially reducing flood risks in the region.

Carried out through the cooperation of MEKA and ICC Group, the Salıpazarı Dam Project stands out as one of the most significant ongoing infrastructure investments in Türkiye. With this project, MEKA once again demonstrates its expertise in the field of dams and water structures, continuing to add value to large-scale projects with its high-capacity and reliable concrete batching plant solutions.
